Ethiopian — Harrar
This Fairtrade Organic comes from the birthplace of coffee, courtesy of the Oromia Coffee Farmers Cooperative Union Ltd. The union, which was founded just before the turn of the 21st century, is the largest Fairtrade coffee producer in Ethiopia, giving it access to some of the best coffee in the country.
All coffee comes from indigenous cultivars, yielding an authentic East African coffee experience. The coffee is grown and harvested with traditional farming techniques without insecticides, herbicides, or chemical fertilisers. The fertility of the soil is enhanced through organic composting.
Ethiopian coffees are some of the most unique and intriguing coffees around. Each region has its own distinct style, because of the dramatic climatic differences and various processing methods. The Harrar coffees are dry processed, which gives them an almost profound intensity of flavour in the cup.
